CISV sends youth Peace Ambassadors to the Council of Europe

CISV International’s recent call for applications from young people wishing to be considered
for the role of Peace Ambassador for the Council of Europe was a great success. From the many
expressions of interest, CISV International was able to support three CISVers in their formal
applications to the Council of Europe – and all three were accepted!
It is extremely unusual for more than one applicant from an organisation to be accepted, so it
speaks well of the high standard of our three candidates and their applications that CISV
International will enjoy such strong representation.
The three successful candidates are Joanna van der Hoek (Netherlands), Hanna
Gynnerstedt (Sweden / UK) and Deimante Narijauskaite (Lithuania). They were selected
and supported through the process by Anna Widegren, CISV International’s official
representative to the Council of Europe and member of our Organizational Relations Committee.
Well done to Joanna, Hanna and Deimante, and Anna, and we look forward to reporting on their
experiences as Peace Ambassadors.
We'll be bringing you regular updates but for now, to read more about what Joanna, Hanna
and Deimante will be doing in the role of Peace Ambassador for the Council of
Europe, go to
