We are pleased to introduce the four winners of the 2012 Volunteer of the Year Awards! The winners were announced at CISV’s Annual International Meeting earlier this month. They had been chosen by a small selection panel from nominations from around the world. This reflects the amazing hard work and commitment of so many CISVers at the local, national and international levels. Congratulations to the winning four, who are:
International Volunteer of the Year - For Taskforce or Committee members (including Chairs) who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of CISV International throughout the last year. This may be through outstanding commitment and effort, innovative practice or inspirational ideas, approach or leadership. Peter Schubert, CISV Germany
National Volunteer of the Year - For National volunteers who have developed their NA or PA through outstanding commitment, ongoing volunteer efforts and inspirational ideas, approaches or leadership during the past year. Ellen Fowler, CISV USA
Chapter Volunteer of the Year - For Chapter volunteers who have developed their Chapter through outstanding commitment, ongoing volunteer efforts and inspirational ideas, approaches or leadership during the past year. Mona Casén, Helsingborg Chapter, CISV Sweden
The first 3 awards are about highlighting recent success and outstanding volunteer contribution. We are aware that CISV is fortunate to have many volunteers who have consistently contributed to the organization over a long period of time. For that reason, this year we created the following new award:
Outstanding Contribution Award - For Chapter, National or International volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to the organization over a long period of time. We wish to thank volunteers who have shown outstanding commitment, who have inspired others and have created something unique either in their Chapter, NA or at the International level.
Jennifer Watson, CISV Great Britain
