Description
The theme of the IPP - immigration - was developed working alongside Italian volunteers with
immigrants of African origin, who had arrived in Italy and had no job or place to stay. The
participants co-operated with the Catholic association Caritas, an organisation of volunteers
devoted to helping the poor and the disabled and taking care of people who have no family or a
place to stay. Also the local government was involved in the project: participants attended
meetings in schools and with local government officials to compare ways of dealing with immigration
issues in the Modenese area and in their home communities.
