Mosaic Pool of Trainers
Here is where we will regularly have updates and news for our Pool of Trainers! There should be an update at least once every Priority Period, to let you know what is coming up in the next few months. If you are a Mosaic Trainer please make sure that you check this page regularly for updates and that you take a good look at the recent news before every training you organise and run. Thanks!
October 2008
Dear Mosaic Trainers,
Greetings from the IMC! If you are receiving this e-mail it is because you are an official Mosaic trainer, trained at a TTMT workshop. The IMC met in Italy in August and we are getting in touch to give you some important information about training during the upcoming year.
First of all, some introductions. The Mosaic Training Team is made up of three people: Alex Neuman (Canada) is the coordinator for American trainers; Babsi Enko (Austria) is the coordinator for European trainers; and Chris Stokes (Australia) is the coordinator for Asia-Pacific. What does this mean? It means that we are your contact people within the IMC. We will be the ones to coordinate the training that you deliver locally and will also be available to support you throughout that process. Starting in 2009 we want to be utilizing all of our trainers. That means giving each of you who is willing the opportunity either to deliver training or project support or both. There will be three main ways that Mosaic trainers will work starting in 2009.
The Three Ways Mosaic Trainers will be involved in Training and Support in 2009...
1. Training and Support by the Trainer
In this model, the Mosaic trainer (you) will carry out a) the staff training for the project, and b) the primary support person for the project. Throughout the process, the trainer will be supported by the IMC member who trained him or her at their TTMT.
Example: Carolyn was trained by Alex at the TTMT in 2008. Carolyn's chapter, (San Francisco) has a project in the pool in 2009. She will train the staff of the project in her chapter and will also be the support person for this project as they plan and write their proposal. During the training and support, Carolyn will CC Alex on e-mails and ask him for input whenever she needs something.

2. Introduction and Promotion
Those trainers who are in chapters that do not have projects in the pool in 2009 will be asked to think of ways to promote and introduce Mosaic in their chapters with the objective of preparing those chapters to host projects in the future.
Example: Rosanne is a trainer in the North America Network of Trainers. Her chapter has never hosted a project and is not hosting this year. Rosanne plans a one-day introduction to Mosaic for interested members of her chapter. She uses resources from the Mosaic Intro kit (available online) to do a general introduction. She also facilitates a brainstorm of what a future project in her chapter might look like.

3. Shadow Support
This in an option for trainers who wish to be involved in the project support process but for whom option one is not possible. Here, trainers will have the opportunity to shadow an IMC member while he or she supports a project from the pool. The trainer will be assigned to an IMC member and a project and can decide how much he or she wishes to be active in the "shadow" role.
Example: Matt was trained at the TTMT in 2008. His chapter does not have a project in the pool but he is interested in learning more about the support process. Matt is assigned to shadow the project in Jakarta, Indonesia which Per Olsson of the IMC is supporting. During the support process, Per CC's Matt on e-mails. Per remains the contact person for the chapter. To whatever degree Matt wishes, he engages in a discussion with Per throughout the process, asking questions and making suggestions.

That's what trainers will do! Here you can download a document that lays out the specific responsibilities in the form of a grid.
If you are in our Network of Trainers a further e-mail will follow from us directly to each of you to work out exactly which role you will play during the upcoming year of Mosaic projects. In the meantime, please be sure to familiarize yourself with this information and think about what type of commitment you are able to make. Remember that you are all capable, trained trainers and even if this seems daunting, the IMC is here to support you in your contribution to the development of the Mosaic programme.
Please get back to us with any questions or reflections you may have and expect to hear from me soon about your specific role.
Mosaic love,
Alex, Babsi and Chris
the IMC training team
