Christmas is the most important delebration day in many of our countries. Yet we tend to take Christmas for granted, and forget about people in our community with a different cultural background.
So, a group of CISVers in Munich, Germany, decided to bring together young people to present the great festivities of their native countries to one another. The idea of this project was to help the them understand that even though traditions can be quite different, what is always the same is the unity with friends and family.
The Chapter collaborated with an organization which brings together youth to spend their free time together, helping each other with their personal issues. During a few meetings kids and youth from Hungary, Spain, Turkey, Thailand and India presented their culture and festivities.
At the end of the project they discussed all together how Christmas is celebrated in Germany and what they personally do during the holidays.
