Where and When
Guadalajara, Mexico. 7 to 29 July 2017.
Educational Content Area
Diversity. Sustainable Development.
Participants in this IPP will help rehabilitate a public space. Through engaging in community meetings and taking active roles in workshops, participants will listen to the wishes and needs of the local community. Then, working alongside community members in a diverse range of activities, they will contribute to the construction of this reimagined and reinvented “human space”.
The partner organization, Colectivo 1.618, is an interdisciplinary group who manage, develop and provide platforms for integrated urban design projects. They support social transformation by bridging the gap between civil society and design.
Whilst learning about the importance of the conservation and appropriation of public spaces, participants will also have the opportunity to better understand the diversity and culture of Mexico, through engaging with local communities in a meaningful way.
Participants should ideally:
- Be open minded.
- Be willing to learn and grow.
- Be able to show empathy with others.
- Have active listening and communication skills.
- Have creative ideas and a positive attitude.
- A broad range of backgrounds and experience will be welcome.
